When I first saw the subject we were to write about today
the first thing that popped into my head was Dad
but that is a given ~ right
so I wanted to venture off course
off my normal
out of my comfort zone
so here I go....
I miss the carefree days of childhood
the summer vacations spent at the farm
running through the fields
riding in the back of a half ton truck
family reunions when all we would care about
was spending time together
playing hide and go seek until dark
spending time in the barn with Grampy
milking cows ~ playing in the haymow
swinging at the playground
playing Mr. Brown please let me down on the teeter totter
I miss that life gets so busy
that some things are not just a given
that you have to plan time with friends
because getting together every Saturday night
just doesn't happen anymore
I think it's called growing up
but we have to stop and make the time
because tomorrow is right there
and we need to live and cherish every moment.

i really don't like that life is this busy either. i want to do nothing. sip tea and read a book. have a spontaneous luncheon. just be...without an calendar and to do list a mile long. you have a good miss list.
