Sunday Plans

As I glance at my clock
it seems almost silly to be talking about
Sunday plans
when the day is half over

I have been catching up on blogs
reading
laughing
commenting
and I even swiped a tear or two

when I entered into this bloggy world
I did not know how many
wonderful women
would be brought into my life

so here I sit
in my PJ's still
at almost 1:30 in the afternoon

don't judge...
you know you want to
be here too!

I had all intentions
of going out shopping today
but I think I will stay put

I may even wander upstairs
and get dressed

but today I want to be cozy
and comfy
and just relax

I did make brunch
blueberry pancakes

I think the dishes may still be
up in the sink

guess I have a date with them
before I do anything else....

Oh
and my big surprise gift
the one that I was giving
was a mastercard "priceless" moment
she squealed and bounced up and down
on the couch
I loved it....

On Thanksgiving Day
right before dinner
we were talking about our favorite movies
of all time

Eddie and the Cruisers
was on both my SIL and my list
"If you ever see the DVD ~ please pick me up a copy
and I will do the same for you"
she said to me

so....when I got home
I checked some sites
and found the 2 DVD set

it has the original and the 2nd one too
and I ordered us each a copy
I think I will watch it this afternoon

after my date with the dishes....

Quote of the day

The only gift
is a portion of thyself.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

With all the shopping
and wrapping
and running around

I felt it only right
to make this the quote of the day

I try so hard to find something
that is just right
for a recipient

Last night
on hopefully my final trip
to the mall
yes the mall
and after a day from hell
at work
I started out great
and then went into a fog
about an hour in
I wandered
and wheeled my car
in between racks
through the aisles
and finished
yes finished
my shopping.....

Now to gather, sort & wrap
Maybe I will be able
to relax this week-end
and enjoy the tree
and watch

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Girls Week-end

I was fortunate enough to have *company* from Thursday night until this past Wednesday morning. She is the person I call my best girl ever. I love her to pieces and although we live 1000 miles apart ~ whenever we see each other it is like it was yesterday. I dare say we know everything about one another ~ well almost everything!

While she was here we had a couple of family get togethers ~
Saturday we had a BBQ and the whole clan was here.

These are the cousin's ~ enjoying a beverage or two or three...

My brother has had a rough time of late and is using a walker right now so we
"pimped his ride"
complete with a basket, a horn, a light, a rear view mirror, a drink holder
and some streamers to complete the look!

We set up the bar ~ blender drinks galore along with some Jello shots for fun!

Strawberry Daiquiris were the fav of the day....

Molly was plum tuckered out as she had so many people to pay attention to her ~ she finally gave up and pulled up her own chair to catch some zzz's.

Sunday we went to my cousin's place and along with more beverages and BBQ
we played a friendly game of washer toss...

If you have not played this game ~ it is F*U*N!!

We of course did some shopping and went to see....
I highly recommend it ~ we thought it was hilarious!!!

All in all ~ we had a wonderful time together ~
reminisced about old times and made some new memories.

6 Uninteresting Things That Make Me Happy...

I have been tagged by a wonderful friend of mine over at
The Bottom of the Ironing Basket so here I go....

~ The first thing makes me laugh because there is a story behind my mini obsession with Natural Ice lip balm. It makes me very happy, but I was quite unhappy when I found out the makers of one of my favorite things discontinued the product. Once I found this out, I was on the hunt to find out where they were clearing it out. Well, as luck would have it the little place that had "the stash" of "my stuff", did not have a store in my city....closest place was about an hour and 1/2 away. We do have friends there, so I sent her on the search, only after getting it all set up to have some put on hold. Fast forward our next trip to Saint John - she brings the bag out and plops it on my knee.... I peer in like it is a stocking on Christmas morn only to find it is the WRONG lip balm!! I almost cried and could not hide my disappointment. Needless to say, I was into the store the following day and bought 60 - yes, count em - 60! I still have some put away, and yes, they make me happy.

~ I have to say our cottage, which is more of a camp really. It is one of the few places I can go and not feel guilty about doing nothing. It's also a bonus that it is one place I feel Dad's presence the most as he built it "from scratch" ~ cut down the trees, milled the lumber, built it up and filled it with love. I still miss him everyday.

~ A sappy chick flick on a cold winters night, snuggled up with a blanket and a mug of hot chocolate.

~ Spending time with friends because we do not get together nearly enough, so I am very happy when we make the time and wonder why it took so long.

~ Reading ~ whether it is curled up on the couch or lounging in the hammock.

~ Keeping traditions alive by trying different recipes found in my grandmothers old book as she was the best baker ever!

I would love to tag 6 ~ but I won't. I will however be around to check everyone elses lists!
