Good Reads

I love to read
no big surprises here
to anyone that knows me

doesn't this look like
the perfect spot to curl up?

I always have a book on the go
or a magazine

build me a fire
and I am so there!

I read every day
on my lunch break
it is down time for me
some quality quiet time

A couple of years ago
a friend of mine mentioned a website called
Goodreads

I joined up
listed some books
read some reviews on ones that were on
my wish list

they send out a newsletter
once a month

part of the newsletter is
signing up for a chance to win
a pre-released book

well in January
I signed up for a few
and I was a lucky winner
of one...

I received the book on Monday

it is signed by the author
and I cannot wait to read it!

I actually want to be here

with one of these...

or one of these...

and definitely one of these...

there is nothing like curling up
with a cozy throw
and reading...

I have to finish this one first

I will be honest
I am struggling with it

but have been at it for a week
I am going to try and finish it this week-end

in between this of course

Go Canada!!

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.

We certainly share a love for reading, Lori. I find it so difficult when I am struggling with a book, knowing that I have so many more unread on my shelves, just calling me!! Do you stop and lose that time invested? Or do you plow along hoping that the story picks up? Hard decision!

I love the cozy spots you posted for reading. My bed is my all time favorite, curled up with the dogs and something warm to drink. In the summer I love the patio, stopping every now and then to savor the sights, sounds and smells. Books are heaven on earth!

Oh, I'm LOVING the cozy chair photo with the brick wall.... I'm trying to clean out my craft room and create a reading corner in it...can't wait to check out Goodreads!

Thanks for your comment on my issue yesterday too... every job I've had has been "with people" so I am picky about customer service too...

Hope you get through your book. I have one that is dragging too, and another to read that I want to get started on... but my rule is to finish one before I start another... sigh... :))

Enjoy your day!

Dear Lori,
Well done on winning the book. What a nice suprise.
Sorry that I missed your last post. I must have been out and about and missed it.
.... and, I just have to say that Canada put on the most wonderful Winter Games. They were fantastic, even though the U.K. only won one medal !!!! haha. We don't excel at winter sports. You would think that we would be quite good as, there is a lot of winter sports going on in Scotland.I'm sure that you are sad now that they are all over.
Have a great week, Lori XXXX

What a lovely post Lori :)

I loved "The Guernsey Potato Peel Pie Society".....will be interested to see if it improves for you.

I have a huge shelf of books to read, it never seems to get smaller as I am always picking books up! I have read quite a bit recently though, there's just never enough time.

Happy Reading!

Lori, I'm just rekindling my love of reading. Back in high school I used to read a book every 2 days. then working full time... kids... and reading went on the back burner. that is until Paige introduced me to Redeeming Love and my love of reading was rekindled! I have 2 books in my basket right now. If only I could find time for reading... and blogging... It's hard to make time for everything. but I really really want to read more!

It's been a while since I've gotten lost in a book. I'm reading a Beth Moore book now, but my favorites are romantic fiction.

Loved the images you showed. That one chair with the pillow and blanket looked sooo cozy. Happy reading friend:)
