Squishy

I have to admit something

it is a love affair that has gone on for years

my husband knows about it
and although he does not agree with it 100%
he loves me and accepts it

the love it for
.
.
.
.
bread

yes ~ bread!

I usually try to be a good girl
whole grain ~ low fat breads for every day

but fresh ~ white ~ squishy bread and rolls
I am in love

one of our local bakeries has an herbed cheese bread
that is pure heaven

I call it cotton candy bread ~ I try to stay away
far far away

when we were kids
Grammy used to make the best bread and rolls

my cousin and I would split the roll
and flatten it out on the table
then butter it and eat it

Grampy commented once that it would be easier
if we put it on the floor and stepped on it
but laughed at us

we still do the same thing
and can make a meal out of a loaf of fresh bread
or rolls

sinful but oh so good

so now you know another one of my secrets...

chowder in a bread bowl ~ a Maritime favorite

grilled cheese = bliss

peanut butter and jam
still a favorite after all these years

do you have a forbidden love?

come on ~ you can tell me
(wink, wink)

I am feeling better today
was very excited when I woke up this morning
and could breathe through my nose

see ~ little things make me happy

Thank you for all the get well wishes
they made me smile

hope you all had a fabulous Monday

xoxo

I love bread too. Especially warm bread that when you put the butter on it it melts oh so perfectly. I love a good Shepards bread. I used to love this awesome bakery in I believe Julian, CA called Dudley's you could smell the bread from miles away. YUM. I wish I could bake bread like that. We have a good bakery in town that when we were younger we would walk through it eating rolls.

There is nothing like warm crusty bread that is soft in the middle - that and butter (from Normandy if I am in heaven...) and I am happy for life. Love love love bread!!! I wish I knew how to make *real* french bread. Okay, now I am hungry for some... drat!

Hi Lori,
Why is it that everything we love is soooo bad for us ?!!
Fresh bread is divine, as is chocolate, wine, and anything cooked in butter or goose fat !!
I'm afraid, like you said, we have to moderate or ingestion of it !!
I think that, as you have been a little poorly, a few slices won't hurt....everything in moderation ! XXXX

I love bread too but can't buy it in Yuma as it tastes terrible. We make our own with Canadian flour and yeast. The buns here are just okay and we do buy those.

I wish so badly that I could eat bread. It's such a huge bummer! On a happier note, my jambalaya is simmering away!!! Yippee!

Amen! I've had a love affair of the very same kind - all my life. Give me bread and a stick of butter (not margarine please) and I am a very happy camper.
