Happy Monday everyone!
I hope that the week-end was good to all of you
I feel like I never stopped
I did of course
but let's just say
Sunday night I was in my jammies by 8
and to bed early
our shopping excursion on Friday was a success
many, many sales to be had
and we finished in record time.
We were late getting to the retirement dinner
but not too late to have a few of these
and play catch up.
~*~*~*~*~
Saturday was home day...
the past few years I have been taking out
my decorations in stages
one week-end I unpack all my dishes and kitchen stuff
Christmas 2009 |
I really tend to go overboard
as I have glasses and dishes
serving pieces and I get them out and
wash them all up
I used to do it all at the same time
but I was exhausted when I was done
so this way is easier for me
this week was all the hard work
next week will be fluffing and making it all pretty.
Sunday was shopping today
9 stops ~ including the grocery store
now to sit and do my cards
and mail my parcels
I will be writing cards listening to this
it is my absolute favorite Christmas album
and Mom still has the original
on vinyl baby!
in Grade 6 ~ 3 of us sang
Santa Bring My Baby Back to Me
we had a dance and everything
I still love it!
My favorite song on the album is
I think it is timeless.
It snowed here on Saturday
so the spirit is in my heart
and although I have only just begun
and there is still much to do
I smile as my favorite time of the year
is here...
What is your favorite Christmas song or album?
yes ~ I do want to know....

Hi Lori - love Elvis - always best to go back to the classics at Christmas! And absolutely applaud being in bed by 8! Best place to be on a Sunday night. Lou xxx
You are so cute. I have not done a quarter of my shopping and the holiday starts this week! Today I will be out there. I also have to do my holiday decorating, especially since we are hosting and I want it to look in tip top shape.
Get some rest in there.

I got out my holiday decorations, but that was the extent of it - so this week and next weekend I will get it all done. Shopping, not so much - I will start that next weekend. I have an array of Christmas music playing in my home and car - I don't have fave albums but tend to love all the classic Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Andy Williams and some current ones in the mix too....One that I love love love is my Kenny Rogers Christmas Album from like 25 years ago - that one is in my car and my kids grew up with that one (like it or not.....ha!) Much love to you, Lori! It sounds like you had a fabulous weekend! xxoo :)
Oh Bing Crosby's White Christmas for sure!
Oh and I forgot Amy Grant's Christmas album...love that too. Can't remember the name. Need to pull that out!
I think you are well on your way with your Christmas preparations! And snow to boot? That would put me in the mood. I am still taking my fall things down and hopefully will get the Christmas boxes upstairs this week.
My favorite Christmas music is by Kenny G. Love the sax!

Okay. While we're at Thanksgiving the Chef's dad spills it that he saw Elvis in Vegas AND Elvis AND SINATRA in Miami when EP got back from his tour of duty. My mouth just hit the floor. It's crazy to think that Elvis could still be around if he hadn't swelled up and passed out on drugs.

and yes i am entirely inappropriate. blame it on mad amounts of pie.
I have so many favorites...but Kenny and Dolly remind me of my teenage years....we always put that on when we were trimming the tree. And of course Boney M....I could not forget Boney M!!!!
For musical movies I love White Christmas and Holiday Inn...I love Bing. This is the first Christmas in a long time, that I"m getting into the spirit:)
PS I LOVE your red post....LOVE IT.
PPS I have a copy of the photo of you and Roxanne for you:)
