Digging In

Tulips
have become one of my favorite flowers
especially when we are looking out into the flowerbeds
searching for a sign of spring

now though is the time to get the bulbs in the ground
so we can enjoy them in the spring

I came across a write up on these
in the last Canadian Living magazine

Prinses Irene Tulips
honours Canadian Veterans

these vibrant orange flowers
were created in the Netherlands
to thank the Canadian soliers
for their efforts in World War 2

the streaks of purple appear on the petals
in the shape of the maple leaf

I think that they are gorgeous
and I hope to find some to plant now
so I can enjoy them next year

I hope to get out this week-end and find some of these
and get them in the ground.

Those were a really beautiful variety...wow! I do NOT have luck with bulbs. Don't know why. It seems fail proof. Leave it to me;)

Oh Gorgeous! The flowers and Katrina! I love Tulips too, but am a Peony girl through and through! Give me those romantically dramatic petals any day!
