A Sunday Drive

After brunch today
we decided to take a drive
down to the cape
check on the cottage
and enjoy the fall colours

I have always loved this drive
since I was a little girl
going to my grandparents farm

It is a road full of memories

this little apple tree
looked so sad
all by itself in the middle of the field

the pilot on our journey
and his co-pilot

Mom came along too
she's in the back
with her hand in front of her face
so no picture of her!

we got to the cottage
and all was well
not much colour there
too many spruce, evergreen & pine trees
so everything is still really green

Mom, Molly and I
went for a little walk
and found some leaves
the wind was strong
coming off the bay
so there were not that many
still on the trees

we made another stop
along the way
and that is where I got
the best shots of the day

can you tell where I was?

don't shudder when I tell you...
it was gorgeous ~ really!

it was the cemetery!

we brought flowers for Dad's grave
and I whipped out the camera as the colours
were breathtaking
it was really pretty

and I feel calm here
in the daytime...
at peace

but
don't bring me there at night
nope ~ I turn into a big chicken!

Happy Sunday!

Lovely pictures, especially the ones at the cemetary. I wanted to stop at one here today to take pictures, there is always something so calming there.

Love your photos! They make me want to grab my own camera and go for a walk.

Once it stops raining, that is.

I think cemetary's are beautiful. When I was pregnant with my first, I used to take walks in a nearby cememtary. It was so beautiful and peaceful. There was a little pond and they had swans:) Thanks for taking me back. Great pics.

Dear Lori,
I'm so sorry that I've missed a few of your posts. 'Modern technology has been letting me dowm !!!! I've had trouble with a few blogs, Simones as well. I feel really bad as I hate letting you down.
Anyway...back to the plot !!!!
I just love this post and seeing the countryside around where you live. It's beautiful. That photograph of the apple tree looks like a painting, doesn't it ? If I had taken it, I would frame it, it's wonderful. .... and the red foliage, isn't it a fabulous time of year ?
Lovely photographs, Lori and a stunning post. XXXX
