Today I will remember
a soul sister that was taken from us too soon
she and I clicked
we shared stories
some laughs
and some tears
she loved swings
wildflowers
her beach
fashion
and most of all
her Captain
for those of you who knew her
know what I mean
when she passed
there was a huge hole left behind
some days she passes through my mind
like the soft touch of a butterfly
saying ~ I am here
so this is a tribute post
for Lisa
our Bumpkin on a Swing
angry that we never got to meet in person
as we had plans ~ oh yes we did!
as we had plans ~ oh yes we did!
gone to soon
I hope you are swinging on girlfriend
to commemorate this first anniversary
I am hosting a giveaway
last fall my girlfriend was wearing one of these bracelets
and I fell in love with it
All proceeds from these bracelets help to further advance the quality
of local cancer care, treatment and research.
Each colored Swarovski Crystal represents a type of cancer treated here at home.
when I wear mine I think of Lisa
and now you can have one of your very own
just leave your name and email address or
blog link in your comments
I will draw the winner on Friday
August 12th
(please note that I will wait for the winner to be chosen before I order the bracelet
as it comes in 3 sizes ~ so it will be shipped directly to you in 4-6 weeks)

and don't forget about teal toes
paint those tootsies and raise awareness
of ovarian cancer.
I feel blessed to have been touched by this wonderful woman.

This is a beautiful tribute Lori....just the other day I thought of her, I can't believe it has been a year. Lisa was a really special person, you are so right that she left a huge hole in many people's lives....she was a gorgeous, funny, clever girl with so much ahead of her. I remember being beyond sad on hearing the news....and it still feels so wrong.
Hugs to you my friend xx
Hi Lori - such a lovely post and so thoughtful and thought provoking. I recall being in shock when she passed away; such an untimely loss. I still pop back to her blog every now and then too, just to get a feel for Lisa. She left THE BEST comments ever. Very sorely missed. Lou x
I'm so sorry for your loss...Lisa sounds like she was a wonderful person. Beautiful post and you are doing a very thoughtful giveaway.
XO,

What a wonderful post for Lisa. I can't believe it's been a whole year. Sometimes I go back through my posts just to see her comments and remember what it was like to have her around. Very sad, indeed.

So so beautiful Lori, she really was taken way too soon. But I know she is smiling down on all of us, xxx DJ
How perfect. She is loving this right now. Just loving it...
She will be missed always!
I am sure that she is swinging on a swing, missing all the people she had to leave too soon. This lovely tribute brought tears to my eyes. I am sad that I only got to visit her blog after she was gone. I wish that I could of known her. She does seem to be a wonderful person. I know she had great taste in friends *wink* cause you are so wonderful to still remember her. Much love and hugs to you my friend!
My heart goes out to you, Lori and all of Lisa's friends. She stopped by my blog a few times and had very kind words - a wonderful spirit! Love and hugs to you, dear friend! xxoo :)
I remember reading the sad post of a friend gone too soon last year. I hope you are swinging for her! It's very hard to lose someone you love.

Very special post. Lisa is terribly missed. It all happened too quickly. We shall see her someday in a better place I am sure of that.
