My Potting Bench

I have always wanted a potting bench

it is something I have been talking about
for quite a few years

nothing fancy

simple

a spot to do my container planting

and store all my gardening gear

so
on Easter week-end
Trevor was working away in the garage
while I was doing things in the house
I did not know what he was up to

well I soon found out
that this is what he was up to...

he surprised me with my very own bench!

we had this piece of countertop
can't quite remember where we scored it
but it has been sitting
a long time...

here he is
kicking back and relaxing
after a job well done!

so she sat in the baby barn
for a month now
and I was hoping
while we were on vacation
I would have the chance to dress her up a bit!

last Monday was the day
we brought her out

and I set up my gear

I wanted something
bright
and
fun

the colour is called
"Glowing"

my neighbor said it looked like
a giant life guard bench

we took her back to her new home

and I started organizing.

works great too
I have all my containers completed
and I can't wait to find more things
to add to her charm.

Happy Monday!

Lori,Your potting bench is marvelous and what a happy great color.
You must have a darling husband to make this for you.
I have wanted a potting bench for years! And found one at a very cool little garden shop. It was painted a pretty aqua, but would not look good where I was going to put it, so it is being repainted a deep charcoal. I can't wait to get it.

I must admit, after seeing your yellow I am having a little remorse about going so conservative.

Oh Lori that is fabulous! How sweet of hubby to build that for you. I love it. I have wanted a potting bench for oh so long. I am so jealous! I may just have to make my own. I love the rack and the color is awesome! Love the bright yellow. How could you not be happy working away there?

Such a happy color... I love it. Isn't the best when you've been waiting a long time for something. Makes you really appreciate it all the more. Congrats on your special new addition:)

Lori,

Wow, I can't believe it. We should be neighbours! I have a potting bench also. My son made it for me about 8 years ago. Today you inspired me to go out and give it so much needed attention. I now want to repaint it! Another job jar entry... I think I will post a picture of mine also and mention yours!

A Quote from The Captain:
"Tell the Wildflower Lady, to tell her husband, I said Thanks, Thanks Alot, now I have to spend my fishing time, building a bright yellow potting bench. All said with a smile of course.
Message from The Bumpkin:
We'll be wildflower twins! Yeee so excited!
Love you!

That is absolutely gorgeous...what a sweet hubby you have! My potting bench is our brick bbq - it's perfect with the counters and cupboards underneath to hold my tools! Enjoy your potting! xxoo :)
