London is celebrating
and I have been watching
this is the picture I remember hanging in our classroom growing up!
We were talking about all the festivities on Sunday
and Mom said she remembers saving all the newspaper clippings
of the coronation back in 1953 ~ she would have been only 6
too bad she still did not have those clippings today!
(the accession was in '52 but the coronation was not until '53)

London is all decked out ~ I so wish I could see this is person
one of the broadcasters said that they have not seen the Queen
smile so much
so much to celebrate ~ so many reasons to smile!
Last week I watched a special about the jubilee
and both Princes ~ William and Harry were interviewed
loved the interview especially when Harry said when asked
"what do you call her"
why Granny of course!
Tonight is the concert which I will be tuning into.
Have you watched at all?

the only time i was into the royal family was when diana was alive. loved her. it's kind of lost it's interest since then.
Oh I just love the Queen! Maybe it's because I am Canadian but she's just so classy and sweet :)
My daughter went into London today by train and watched the whole things from Trafalgar Square. We should have joined her, Lori.
I wish that I could have been in London for all the festivities! I am watching the Concert for the Queen right now - really enjoying it! I hope you're having a fabulous week, Lori! xxoo
It was beautiful! I'm so lucky to live a few minutes away from London. Great atmosphere :) xo
I wish you'd been in London too!!
Great post Lori....I think the Queen is fabulous....I still can't believe she is 86, it's hard to remember most of the time :)XX
Looks like such a great celebration! And yes it would have been so cool if your mom still had those clippings from the coronation
Too bad we all couldn't have gone together!!!! And have a toast to an amazing woman!
