Springtime Favorite

a sure sign of spring
and one of my favorites
is the pussy willow

these little beauties
bring me back to my childhood

going on "the hunt"
with my Dad

bringing a bunch home
and Mom putting them in a vase

we were fortunate enough
to be able to just go for a walk to look for them

we did not have to buy them

crafters and decorators alike
know they are fun

they make me smile

who needs curtains!

simplicity

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes

I had a wonderful week-end
ate WAY too much
and have been doing double time
on my Wii Fit to make up for it!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Dear Lori,
I think that we all must have collected pussy willow as children as it so reminds me of my childhood too. I remember taking it to school and it being put on the nature table. I loved stroking the soft little buds. I love the pictures that you have found. I really must have that wreath. Perhaps I could make one although, I'm not sure if I could find enough of it around here for that !!
It's so good to hear that you had a good birthday and, you should definitely have been allowed a day off from your healthy eating on such a special day. It won't hurt. You are doing SO well and will be in great shape for the wedding. Lots of love to you, Lori. XXXX

Oh how beautiful. Love those things but don't google French Pussywillow. I found out the hard way once. I was so focused on finding out info on them that I never even considered what else would pop up on my screen. Lol. eventually found the info I sought but my face was red by then.

Hi - these are great pictures - not often seen amongst all the blossom and daffodils and tulips we see. Pussy willow the unsung hero?! Louise x

What a pleasure to read. I love pussywillows and grew up where they could be gathered, but I haven't thought of them for years. Thanks for sharing.

Love those willow curtains! And the wreath. I just bought a tiny bunch at the Farmers' market earlier today...I need to plant one of those twigs and start harvesting my own!
