Starting Today...

I am fat

yeah ~ I said it
I put it out there

taken January 12, 2010

I need to lose
a lot
of weight

hitting the scale
was scary
but I knew...

I joined Weight Watchers
in 2006
and stuck with it a year

and lost a total of about
25 pounds
guess I was not trying very hard

but you know what

I went back

on Thursday night

and rejoined.

I also kept my tracker
from the last time I was there
which was January 2007

and I have gained
4 pounds
since I quit

I almost did the happy dance
only 4 pounds
in 3 years

it told me a couple of things
I have changed my eating habits

I have become a label reader

I have a better awareness of what I put in my mouth

so although I am not happy
with the number on the scale
I am happy and feel it will be easier
this time around

I also know that I have to
move...
get my butt off the couch
away from the TV
and the computer

I know it will be hard

but for an hour each day
I will be in a zone
moving
dancing
anything but sitting

I know I can do it...

Good for you! I need to lose probably alot more than you do. I just discovered that I LOVE food and cooking and eating where before I didn't. I think that comes from a Mom who only used 3 spices, salt, pepper and bacon fat. We should do a weekly party to celebrate losing weight. I got about 50-60 anyone can have if interested!

Hooray for you, Lori!! I am with you all the way. I have tons to lose but I am not sure about any programs. I will be talking to my doctor this week. I think it may have to do with the big 'M' word...

Best of luck! :-)

Lori,
I have weight to lose too. I joined WW online a little over a month ago and lost 9.5 lbs so far.

I will be in this journey with you. We can be cheerleaders for each other, ay.

Here's to today. Good luck and you can do it!

I have so much faith in you my friend. I think that it is quite possible that much of the weight you carry sits in your HUGE heart.
I will be sending you lots of weight loss energy!

Dear Lori,
I tell you what.
only 4lb's in 3 years is brilliant. You have obviously changed the way you eat and, with some exersise and weight watchers you are on the way to a new you.
I wish you all the best with it but, the one drawback will be..... no cocktails. Well, maybe one, now and again !!
Seriously though, I think that 2010will be the year for you. XXXX

I know you can do it too.

I have goals too. I know I'm not fat, but I have a goal to look naked. That requires alot specific eating and alot of exercise. So for the last week Honey and I have been eating nothing but oatmeal, egg whites, chicken breasts, sweet potatoes, veggies, berries, cottage cheese etc... I've lost 3 pounds this week and really feel great.

So proud of you for acknowledging what you know and doing something about it. You will be a different person for putting yourself first for once! Can't wait to hear how you are doing:)

Weight is such a hard thing... because sometimes it doesn't matter how much you weigh, but how good you feel about yourself in your own skin. I think you will amaze yourself - an hour of activity is not just good for your waistline, but your heart, mind, and soul! I'm proud of you, Lori, getting out there is tough! But YOU can do it :)

EXCELLENT, LORI!! I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT! I have to lose some weight this year myself. We can all do it together! Being more active is what I need to do too, as I sit at a desk all day and tend to eat lunch at my desk too...So I will be getting my rear in gear - so to speak by getting out to walk at lunch and exercising when I get home at night. This weekend my girlfriends and I danced quite a bit, and this morning I tell you, I can barely move...haha.....but it's a good sore feeling! Have a fabulous day - and just remember we are all in your corner! xxoo
