Color Me Teal

Did you know
that September is

Ovarian Cancer Awareness month?

maybe I knew from previous years
but never took notice of it

seems we do not take note of things
unless it directly effects us
or someone close to us

sad to say
...
this year I have taken notice

so in memory of the Bumpkin
I decided to do this post
to put it on everyone's radar

now...

I could not really do a post for Lisa
without some fabulous teal shoes

This website is fantastic.
Their mission is to raise awareness of ovarian cancer
by painting your toenails teal!

I went out last week to look for some polish
and have mine all painted up in teal
for the entire month of September!

I will not go on and on

but

I will supply the following links
if you want to learn more about supporting this cause

Canadian Website

so if you want
buy a bracelet ~ wear it with pride

or eat a cupcake!

I leave you with a beauty
a field of sunflowers not far from our place

I took a drive out a couple of weeks ago
and it was breathtaking

I love a field of anything
and this was worth the drive

I hope everyone had a fabulous week-end
the one that signals the end of summer
back to school time
and cooler temperatures

I am still on vacation ~ so I am soaking up each and every day
and living life to it's fullest

Happy Monday everyone!

Dear Lori,
What a beautiful post to raise our awareness of Ovarian Cancer. Something that we should all be aware of, especially when it gets so close to home.
I love all of your beautiful images and your tribute to lovely Lisa.
Happy holidays to you. Enjoy, relax and make the most of every minute. XXXX

I didn't know about this - thanks Lori! While ovarian cancer doesn't get as much publicity as breast cancer, from what I understand it is quite prevalent. Thank you for heightening awareness for those of us who were a bit out of the loop.
Have a fabulous rest of your vacation!

Lori,
I am in need of a pedi and was thinking of getting one this week. I will do it in Teal to support this very important cause and the memory of your friend.

Love the pictures of the sunflowers, we passed a few fields of them today and they were just gorgeous.

Have a great week.

Dearest sweet Lori,

This post is so wonderful, I can hardly put my thoughts into words. I too did not realize that September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, and you know I will be having my toes painted teal ASAP! The sunflowers are amazing, how blessed you are to have all that beauty so close to home! Thank you for sharing the beautiful tribute to Lisa and for raising awareness toward this awful disease. (I am going to email you now, I have an idea.)

You are such a wonderful friend, lots and lots of love xoxoxo - Trishy

PS - (OMG THOSE SHOES, Lisa would LOVE THEM!)

Thanks for passing along the word-- if even one woman sees the symptoms and is diagnosed earlier, we will have won.

Please share your shots of your Teal Toes with us-- either on the Teal Toes Facebook page or via email at photos at tealtoes.org
