Friday Potpourri

Doing the Friday happy dance once again

and there is sunshine in the forecast

this week has been hectic

I was still feeling crappy

and work has been crazy

so plans for the week-end include

getting some things done

eating outside

time in the flowerbeds

the farmer's market

an ice cream cone

and some reading

even though Molly is no longer crated

I love this idea!

Week-end Pretties

This week-end was a mixed bag

it was overcast and cool on Saturday

then warmed up a bit and the sun came out on Sunday

still not feeling 100%

but wanting to come back to the land of the living

I ventured outside on Saturday

and took a wire brush to the window I brought back

from the cottage last year

she is now is the garage drying out a bit

and I hope to clean it up so I can hang it in the living room

I am in the midst of choosing photos

to display as I want the panes to act as frames

going between shots taken down at the cottage/farm

and florals

I will post it when I am finished.

So then I wandered around the yard

my lilac is in bloom

my cosmos ~ still just tiny

have some buds on them and one bloom

 

one good thing about all the rain

is that the flowers love it

and the weeds ~ no ~ still no weeding this week!

Wanting a big bouquet of lilacs for the house

but not wanting to strip my little ole bush

I went for a little drive and found this enormous bush

off by itself and picked a bunch

these now adorn my dining room table

plus a couple of little sprigs

around the kitchen

Sunday ~ feeling a bit better

got some errands run ~ took Molly to the dog park

spent some quality time with my neice

and made a big batch of spaghetti sauce

I also signed up for Pinterest

are you there?  what do you think?

I have been having fun playing around with it

will let you know....

and Lord have mercy ~ I also now have a Twitter account

not that I think my life is that interesting

but here goes nothing

it was a good week-end

Friday Potpourri

The lilacs are in bloom

and you know I have been scouting out

the perfect bush to pick a bundle

to bring home to make the house smell wonderful!

is this not the perfect workspace

sure beats the laptop on the coffee table

in front of the tv....

rain in the forecast again for the week-end

hopefully we will see the sun at some point and time

so true...

I am still not 100% but I am feeling better

going to play the week-end by ear

we still have not gotten down to the cottage to open it up

and it's June

with all the rain ~ when we do have a nice day

we try to get our chores done around here

and I want a day where I can open windows

air things out

cold and damp are not ideal conditions

for cleaning ~ especially a place that has been shut up

all winter.

Reconnecting

This year for me it seems to be a year of reconnecting

especially with old friends

I talked about face time here

well I was lucky enough to meet up with another

friend from the past and what a time!

When I was a teen growing up

we had a youth group in our community

and part of that was teen dances every Friday night

at the local community center.

Diane ~ although only 6 years older than I 

was one of the chaperones ~ the dj's girlfriend at the time

but she connected with us kids

and me especially

she made an impact on my life

and we kept in contact for years after 

she moved back to her home in Ontario

and then on to Alberta.

We lost contact in the early 90's

then I found her again in '03

of course now with Facebook

we keep up with each other and I was so excited 

when I found out she was coming east for a visit

I only worked a part day on Monday

so she met me at work and we went out to the

center to relive our past

it has changed so much over the years

and even I was taken back when I walked through the door

we then came back to my place

sat on the deck ~ had some drinks

looked at pictures and just caught up

it was a great day....

the rest of the week has been a whirlwind

I am home sick today ~ past the tissues please

spring colds are maddening and I have way to much to do

to feel this horrible!
