We Went ~ We Shopped ~ We Survived!

I feel like I have been gone forever

even though it's only been a week

but I am back ~ feeling refreshed

and ready to catch up with everyone!

Last Saturday morning came early

alarm going off at 4am early

after tossing and turning and not getting much sleep

on Friday night

it was all good though as I was at the end of the driveway

at 5 ~ ready for pick up

we made the rounds and picked up the crew

then coffee and hit the road

we all wore our tiaras ~ gave the border guards a laugh

then hit the ground running

we shopped ~ we laughed ~ we shopped

we got carded at Wal-Mart when we stopped for beverages

before going back to the room for the night

I was like "seriously"

we laughed so hard

this was day 2 ~ you can imagine

5 girls ~ 1 room ~ 2 double beds and a cot

and enough bags to sink a boat

after breakfast on Monday we packed up

and set out to pack the truck ~ it was challenging to say the least

we did it though and made a pact that whatever we bought 

on the way out of town ~ you had to hold on your knee!

we did it though ~ tiara's still in tact

we made a lot of memories

and had a blast while doing it

we also talked about doing it all again next year

which makes me smile

this week-end I have to do more fun things like

cleaning & grocery shopping

I also have some reading to do as there are

blogs to catch up on.

Pool Days

Not that our summer has been great so far

but we have had some nice days

and when they land on a week-end

it is the perfect time to spend 

some time at the pool

we are fortunate enough to have open access to one

as Trev's cousin has given us the go ahead

whether they are home or not

pool noodles are our friends!

so the holiday Monday we got a call

it's a beautiful day and we are both home

come one over!

a couple of beverages ~ hop into the suit and grab the towel

off we went and had a great day

the host extraordinaire ~ Tom

Molly even got in on the action

the little one from next door came over and had a blast

is she not the cutest!

Linda ~ our hostess spoiled us rotten

not only did she have nibblies in the screen room for us

but we ended up staying for supper too!

they have a gorgeous yard and I fell in love with her new flower bed

filled with calla lilies

it was a perfect day filled with family and laughter!

Cupcake Fun

I wanted to start this week off with some fun...

I just had to gather some together

We had a fantastic week-end ~ did not do a whole lot
but puttered and relaxed

went to a birthday party Saturday night for a friend
then celebrated my brother's birthday today

Molly is on the mend ~ putting more weight on her leg
and Cooper ~ the big furry monster cat
had a trip to the vet on Friday ~ I swear between the two of them
I will have to direct deposit my paycheck
to the veterinary clinic!

I have started the countdown to vacation
which both excites and disappoints me
as it is at the end of August

I am not nearly ready
to say good-bye to summer
although September is a beautiful month
oh well ~ I will not dwell on that right now!

Family Fun

Saturday night
I did something
that I have not done in years

we gathered the troops
and went bowling!

My MIL
bowls in a seniors league
Mom did too
as a spare, for awhile
but even she was out of practice

we got together
and had a pot luck supper first
then headed out to the lanes

there were 11 of us
played girls against the guys
and had a blast

but had loads of fun!
