Sunday Thoughts

So hello there and happy fall

I am just finishing up a week of vacation
my errands are complete
I have a banana bread in the oven and getting ready to make some muffins too

last I posted other than the news about Mom was in May
can you believe it!  yeah I can
so much has happened and I wanted to throw this one out there
as life has not been all bad over the summer

the weekend before my surgery I finally took the leap and did my gallery wall
I have since changed the mats out from white to a linen colour
and I do like it much better

I like things all in a row so I was not sure how I was going to react to all
the different frames ~ but when all was said and done
I do love it.  I added some red as we have a red recliner now
and some other red details in the room so it all works together

Rocky, Tracey, Nancy & Lori

my bestie turned 50 in June so we gathered the girls
and headed off to a local vineyard
so much fun!

when Tracey turned 50 last year, Rocky and I got her a cuff bracelet that read:

"A good friend knows all your best stories ~ A best friend has lived them with you"

it only seemed fitting that I get one for Rocky for hers
and while I was at it ~ I picked one up for myself as well
and had to get a pic of the 3 of us

the end of June brought another proud Auntie moment
when Katrina graduated from college

I love this little one that has grown into such a beautiful person
she has come such a long way

sorting through things at Mom's apartment over the summer was emotional
but some of the gems I came across were priceless
this is me with my Grampy and my Dad
a party at the cottage and I dare say this 3 generation shot
we were singing like nobody's business
such sweet memories

the junior high gang got together again in July
loads of laughs and catching up as the guys joined us this time around
another fun night

a day at the shore and a visit with one of Trev's Aunts
we sat on the deck and enjoyed the sunshine and the salt air

more beach time was had the long weekend in August
but this time on the Northumberland Strait

we walked and walked the beach at low tide
looking for treasures and splashing through the water
it was down time that was needed and appreciated

Rocky, Tracey, Kim & Lori

this night was so much fun
we bought the tickets back in June
and the girl's were worried I would not be ready to go out for a night of fun
well they were wrong ~ we danced and sang like it was 1980
to the music of Loverboy
a good time was had by all

we got to the cottage again on Labour Day weekend
it was so nice and full of beautiful sunsets,
bonfires, fireworks and relaxation

date night with this one, this past week
she is a high school senior this year!  I can't even think about it.
We went to see Bridget Jones's Baby
so funny!

Trev and I got out on a little road trip as well
it's nice to just jump in the car and go for a little afternoon trip
go somewhere you have never been
top it off with a great cup of coffee and a treat
and still be home for supper.

I have some things on my heart but will save them for another time

much love,

Let Love Grow

On an overcast day in August we headed to the beach
to watch one of my favourite people ever
get married to her prince

my God daughter Jillian was a beautiful bride
of course I knew she would be

she is one of those people that is not only a gorgeous girl
but she has a huge heart

the details for this small intimate wedding made me smile
from the location which was at her Grandmother's cottage
with the Confederation Bridge and Northumberland Strait as the backdrop

for those of you who love all things Anne of Green Gables
that is the bridge to Prince Edward Island

to the gifts she gave her girls to all the little touches sprinkled here and there
it really put her stamp on their special day

on the stem of her bouquet was a piece of lace from her Mom's dress
along with a little framed picture of her with her Grandfather
and a little charm that belonged to her Aunt Debbie who we lost suddenly in May

the happy couple with their fur baby Rosco

I have to tell you that this is one of my favourite families in the world
not only have Rocky and I been friends forever
but she married a great guy that has been a wonderful husband and father
then turned around and had 3 great kids

with Lisa & Ryan now married 4 years
their little one turned a year in April
eyes have turned to Matthew ~ his girlfriend is Morgan is such a cutie

Ryan, Lisa & Mitchell

love their pictures ~ so much fun!

the reception was held in the bride's hometown
where it all began

and after dinner and the cutting of the cake

and of course the dances with Matt

and her Dad

this girl did not leave the dance floor
love that they had so much fun ~ I know I did

(these photos are a mix of mine and ones that Jillian posted on Facebook)

This is August...

it is Tuesday morning after a long weekend
and I am sitting here going through the pictures I took this weekend
while we were at the cottage

we could not have ordered nicer weather

we had company with us this time around as thebestneighboursever
joined us on Saturday and Sunday
we had a blast ~ we really did

after supper Saturday night we walked the old road and then came
back up the beach ~ the dogs were in their happy zone
and we were looking for beach glass and heart shaped rocks

I love the old cottages on the shoreline ~ there are not many left
but the ones that are there make me smile

Saturday night we had a bonfire and roasted marshmallows
it was a great day

Sunday after brunch we all piled into the truck as I wanted to take them
down to Slack's Cove ~ it is such a beautiful spot
and should you not share your favourite places so others can enjoy them too?

this is Cathy & Colin

it was also our anniversary so Trev had bought me some roses
I could not bare to leave them home so I brought them with me
he still makes my heart happy

on Monday they were calling for a chance of thunder showers
all around us ~ I could not get enough of the clouds
big white puffy pieces of cotton all around us

I could hear thunder off in the distance a few times
but we never got any rain at all

hammock time was the plan for Monday
while I wandered around with my camera

so with coffee in hand ~ I am planning my day
extra days off do not come around that often ~ so I want to make sure
that I fit in as much as I can

vacation is not far away so I will keep my eye on that prize!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend
and to my friends in Canada ~ I hope you had a safe and happy
long weekend.
