Fight Like a Girl

It's September and time again

to talk about the colour teal

I don't often climb upon my soapbox

but a couple of times a year I do post a gentle reminder

as it is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

this is a cause that is near and dear to my heart

I still miss my dear friend and pull out her emails sometimes

as they make me smile

my tootsies are painted ~ bringing awareness to the cause

see ~ not preachy ~ just a nudge

take care ~ you are worth it.

I gave myself a pedicure on Sunday

and I now have teal toes

my heart broke in 2 ~ 2 years ago when we lost Lisa

aka Bumpkin on a Swing

to ovarian cancer ~ thus every year

in September

I will climb up on my little soapbox and remind you

to paint your toes teal and join the fight.

Color Me Teal

Did you know
that September is

Ovarian Cancer Awareness month?

maybe I knew from previous years
but never took notice of it

seems we do not take note of things
unless it directly effects us
or someone close to us

sad to say
...
this year I have taken notice

so in memory of the Bumpkin
I decided to do this post
to put it on everyone's radar

now...

I could not really do a post for Lisa
without some fabulous teal shoes

I went out last week to look for some polish
and have mine all painted up in teal
for the entire month of September!

a field of sunflowers not far from our place

I took a drive out a couple of weeks ago
and it was breathtaking

I love a field of anything
and this was worth the drive

I hope everyone had a fabulous week-end
the one that signals the end of summer
back to school time
and cooler temperatures

I am still on vacation ~ so I am soaking up each and every day
and living life to it's fullest
