Friday Potpourri

Deep breath ~ it is Friday

and my friends ~ I am so thankful for that

 I love everything that summer has to offer
sunshine ~ getting together with friends
spending time outside ~ always outside
whether it is for a meal or stretching out with a book or magazine
and a cool beverage

after the hustle and bustle of last week

I left myself wide open and puttered around this week

I am a happier girl for it

via

tonight we will head downtown as it is the Atlantic Nationals

one of Canada's largest vintage car shows

I go for the social aspect ~ catching up with people 

seeing old friends ~ listening to great music

we always have a fun time

via

not sure what the rest of the weekend may bring

leaving it to chance ~ it's nice not to have any plans or commitments

via

we may pack up Saturday morning and head to the cottage

it's going to be another hot one so we may just welcome a cool breeze off the water

we will see

getting around to catch up with everyone

was having some issues with my Bloglovin app on my phone earlier this week

but after an email to them ~ it's all fixed 

(insert smilie face here)

A Bubble Bath & A Book

Good morning sunshine

did you have a good week-end?

I was a tad bit under the weather

but I did not let it get me down

my good friend Tylenol 

helped me along

I did get my decorations

all put away ~ except for a little pile of things

sitting on the kitchen counter...

good thing I got hubby to do that final sweep

with fresh eyes ~ yeah

right

mind you the house looks super bare

as I did not have the energy to clean and put 

my stuff back out ~ in time ~ it will all get done

after supper I got in the tub

just me and my book

it was bliss

a glass of wine would have been perfect

but not on this trip

I have started reading Janet Evanovich

her Stephanie Plum series

and although I just finished #4

yup ~ I am way behind

I love them ~ along with the mystery

there are moments of belly laughs

love her writing!

Good thing I had no big plans for Sunday

I was foggy most of the day

so Trev came with me to the grocery store

and then I became one with the couch

had some tea with honey

and watched 50 First Dates

all in all ~ I will take another week-end like this

minus the fog please.

Wordless Wednesday ~ Relaxation

you know me

cannot follow directions

thus the words you are reading

on this Wordless Wednesday post

but I have a story

it has to do with red wine

and a cat

this cat imperticular

cute ~ when he is sleeping

I shall start by saying my husband is a prince

as when he came home for lunch yesterday

he was faced with an enormous mess

you see this cute cat

jumped up on the mantle

and proceeded to knock a bottle of red wine

off said mantle

which landed on the hearth

and exploded all over the living room carpet

glass and wine everywhere

did I mention the carpet was taupe??

so like any good man

he poured water over the stain

then sucked up what he could with the shop vac

then went at it with carpet cleaner

and a scrub brush

you still there??

how did I find out about it you ask??

yup ~ really

this is what it said:

living room carpet is possibly dead

cat is going to be dead when wife gets home

wife is going to be in so much trouble when she gets home

with 12 comments and some "likes"

so ~ I stopped for some club soda on the way home

and poured it on 

and blotted and dabbed and blotted and dabbed

it no longer looks like a murder was committed in the living room

the cat is still alive

and the reason I am in trouble is I chose to display 

a bottle of red wine in the holder

and not white!

I am just thankful that neither of the pets were hurt

as I could only imagine cut paws 

with all the glass

the carpet is not toast

but you can tell where the bulk of it hit

I still have a couple of ideas up my sleeve

and I am on the hunt for wine in a plastic bottle

to put in my holder!

Rest & Relaxation

After being on the go all last week
I have not had the energy
or ambition
to do anything once we returned home

Of course I knew that I would give myself Tuesday
to do a mountain of laundry
and get some groceries in the house
Fresh veggies & fruit
Make some meals
Eating out for 10 days straight was a bit of heaven
but left me wanting a home cooked meal

So I have sat on my butt
all week long
no cleaning although the house needs it
I haven't even been getting dressed
until after lunch!

So I sat here tonight
wondering what I should do on the week-end
Do something productive
with my final 2 days of vacation
or relax?

I would love to sit here and just look at the view...

or lay here...

aren't these calming and peaceful
and serene...

to cold now for this...

or this...

I am loving the drink in this one...

this looks like the plan...

loving this...

and if I concentrate really hard
I can hear the water trickling here...

I should be doing more of this...

down a path like this...

and maybe ~ just maybe
finish my book and start another.
