Friday night and I am ready to kick back and relax
all weekend long

as Trev is off to the island for a little boys weekend
that includes drag racing
that's Anne's Island for Becky and Lou
as in Anne of Green Gables
somehow I doubt the boys will make it to Cavendish though for a visit

this week I have felt like a hamster on a wheel
in need of some time off ~ counting down until vacation
but trying not to wish the summer away
it is a doubled edge sword

so this weekend I will recharge my batteries
take some time for me
read ~ pedicure ~ time with my girl
heading to the beach Saturday night for a little birthday party
should be a good time

I read the great article. I have two thoughts:
I have found some good face to face friends through blogging and some wonderful virtual friends, too.
If I spend all my time on line, I run out of things to say, because I haven't been out and about.

Lori thanks for the link, I book- marked it and will read it more fully when I get a moment. Funny but I just wrote about balancing my blog life too, maybe because it's summer. And I'm aware that I've been less available. But although I feel twinges of worry about returning comments etc.. I don't have a problem stepping away from my blog because I don't plan on ever having a wildly "successful" blog. Does that sound funny? Maybe it's more accurate to say I don't NEED to have a wildly successful blog, and that fact gives me freedom. I so love blogging and feel humbled and grateful when someone is kind enough to read my stuff. But I notice when my time is tight that I will keep up with those I feel an emotional connection with. Women that have reached out to me too. Just like relationships in real life. So I'll want to check in with you and some others even if I'm not blogging at all.
But honestly if I had kids that were small, I don't know if I'm talented enough to manage my time enough to blog. I would be very cautious about taking quality time away from my kids because their childhood goes by too fast anyway, although maybe I just don't know how to create posts quickly or efficiently yet.
Sorry for the long winded response. I do love these photos, especially the gal lying on the beach with a book. That's my version of heaven.

Sounds like you have the makings for a pretty relaxing weekend and some much needed "me" time too! I hope you're enjoying every second of it! I read the fabulous blog post you recommended and saw alot of myself in that. I have definitely stepped away from blogging alot - I'm enjoying life with friends and family and sometimes I just truly don't have much to say or I'm just plain old tired. Haha. But I'm always inspired by all my blogging friends and read daily even though I don't always comment. I'm so glad that I have met you thru this crazy blog world, my sweet friend! xxoo
