This week-end is Valentines Day

duh ~ yeah ~ we already know that Lori
(rolling eyes)

When I was single
I was anti-Valentines
and anti-New Years too

they were 2 holidays that seemed
to stick their proverbial tongues out
to single people

even if you were a happy content
single person
it kind of brought you down
or made you reach for one of these

I have become less jaded
the past 10 years or so
it may have something to do with this guy

now he is not Mr. Romantic
by any means
but he does try ~ sometimes

The night he proposed
he got down on one knee
and told me that I had his heart
and in his hand
was one of these

and once I saw the chocolate
I did not care about the ring

joking here...

anyway ~ getting off topic

I have always loved hearts
and love
and flowers

so it is only fitting
that I share them here
to celebrate
the day of love...

Olympic Fever

Vancouver 2010

it is something that we as Canadians
have been looking forward to
for a long time

it seemed so far away
but now it is right around the corner

the torch relay
was a site to see

it was a 106 day run
visiting more than 1000 communities
across our nation

I got a chance to see it
as it went right past our sub division
one morning back in November
it made me proud
and a little teary eyed

I am after all
a sentimental girl

I am not usually a sports watching
kind of girl
but when it comes to the Olympics
I will watch just about anything

scary ~ I know!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for Canada
as we do have a home advantage

here's hoping we get to hear
our national anthem
a few times!

Week 3

This week I could feel it

I knew that I did good

I squashed some major cravings

and ate baby carrots instead

I did not move much

I must say that the cold really got me down

but...


-3.2 lbs

Hip Hip Hooray

I feel good

I want to thank each and every one of you

you motivated me to do better
and to see the good in a 1 lb loss

Organization Mode

While I have been looking for
the right piece to put in this spot
the old faithful microwave cart
remains in the kitchen


so rewind a couple of weeks ago
cleaning...organizing
usual January stuff

I opened the door to put something in
and there was an avalanche
I apologize for not taking a before picture
but it was bad

so I pulled everything out
and piled it on each side

lots of stuff
right?!

so all there was left
was this big gaping hole

what to do....what to do
it needs a shelf of course!

All kinds he replied

so I made him a deal
he was off the hook
for any other chores

yes...
I am a good wife

all I want is a shelf
yes ~ about mid way
divide the space in 1/2 please

so he got to work
and ta da
a shelf!

with no time left to sort through everything
I just piled it all back in on that day

then last week-end I took the time
sorted through things
and now it looks like this

much better!
