if you have never been over for a visit
it is a must see
So as part of the award
I have to share 10 things I love
and pass it on to 10 bloggers
I did a similar list
back in January so I put on my thinking cap
and came up with 10 more things!
In no particular order:
#1 Having 4 seasons
I know I take this for granted
and although I do not enjoy winter at all
I cannot imagine not having snow for Christmas!
#2 Flowers
I love planting them,
receiving them and taking photo's of them.
#3 Girls Night Out
there is nothing better than getting together
with girlfriends ~ whether it be over coffee
or drinks and dinner.
#4 PJ's
I used to be a nightshirt/tshirt to bed girl
but love, love PJ pants and tanks to sleep in
#5 Sheets on the line
there is nothing like bringing the sheets in
off the line and making the bed
crawling into it that night ~ you just smell fresh!
#6 Fancy Girlie Drinks
love*love*love
I even found a website with loads of recipes!
http://girly-drinks.com/
#7 Walking Miss Molly
this little doggy has my heart
#8 Pedicures & Flip flops
as soon as it is warm enough
my socks stay in the drawer
and out come the nail polish and the flip flops
and when I am feeling extra extravagant
I make an appointment for a pedicure
it makes my feet sing
#9 Photography
I love roaming around taking pictures
looking at things from the lenses point of view
#10 Bubble Baths
light some candles ~ grab a book
and make sure there are lots of bubbles!!
Of course my first list is still in tact as I still love
Books, Music, Dancing, Chocolate,
Good Sheets, My Furry Kids, Coffee ,
Cupcakes, Our Cottage & Connecting with People!
Now to pass this on to 10 others
with no obligation at all...
Last week Simone tagged me with The Plastic Joy Award
Not one to back down from a challenge I got my pencil out and made my list
As part of this award, I need to list five characters (ie, not the actors who play them) who...well, who I would like to get better acquainted with...
believe it or not I had a difficult time making this list
it seemed every person I thought of or character was from a love story
I am a romantic though
so without further ado
#1
Richard Gere as Edward Lewis on Pretty Woman
This is my favorite movie and he is the ultimate hero coming to rescue the fair maiden at the end
Doesn't every girl want a hero?
#2
Patrick Swayze as Johnny Castle in Dirty Dancing
The bad boy but oh so sexy I do not know anyone who did not fall in love with Patrick after watching this movie!
#3
Rob Lowe as Billy Hicks in St. Elmo's Fire
Another bad boy ~ do you see a trend here? This is the type I went for in my late teens/early 20's and this movie is on my all time fav list
#4
Shemar Moore as Derek Morgan in Criminal Minds
Yummy!! This is one of my must see shows each week. I absolutely love when he calls Garcia "baby girl" and makes her feel like the most beautiful woman in the room. #5
Simon Baker as Patrick Jane in The Mentalist
Although he is sarcastic and witty on the show I love it and cannot wait to see what he will do next. Plus ~ who would not love to get cuddly with this hottie!!
I shall pass this on to (with no obligation at all....)
I am such a lucky girl blessed with the best friends e*v*e*r
I have a few things to cover on this post so I ask you to bear (bare) with me....
#1
when I first found out about Maggie's inspiration party I knew exactly who would be my first entry
imagine my surprise when I went over to her place and found that she chose me!!
I sat at my laptop with tears running down my face I am going to print this one out and put it in my pocket so when I need a lift she will be there for me!!
#2
I was going to say last month but it was in March I won a giveaway over at Chez Zizi
I won a $25.00 gift certificate plus a print from the wonderful Mimi Charmante
and you all know how much I love Mimi!!
I am patiently waiting for her to reopen her shop so I can get spending!!
#3
Also in March on a cold wintery snowy icy day I arrived home still white knuckled and found a little gift in my mailbox just because....
xo
#4
Lastly but not least I received 2 awards this week
I am such a lucky girl as I have received an award from my darling Simone she is my sister from another mother...
silly me I thought the 1st awards of the year were the People's Choice Awards!
Shall I pick out a dress?
Val said she would lend me this one and she knows I love red!
now for some shoes hmmmdo you think these will work?
or maybe these... yes ~ I think these will work loving the bling!
OK...
so along with receiving this award I must share with you 10 things that make me happy
I had a hard time whittling the list down to 10 but here we go!
Books
I cannot tell you how much I love to read and will read just about anything recommended to me as long as it is good.
Music I cannot imagine a day without it. My mp3 player is with me all the time and I love getting out the vinyl and reminiscing.
Dancing Although I do not get a chance to dance much anymore ~ you can sometimes find me in my living room rocking out to an old favorite.
Chocolate What woman does not love chocolate! I am a milk girl ~ creamy and good.
Good Sheets I am a sheet snob. They have to be cotton ~ and feel like butter.
My Furry Kids I have said before that I do not just love this little dog ~ I am in love with her.
This furry beast is all boy ~ smart like dumptruck but I love him to death.
Coffee The first thing I reach for in the morning it is like oxygen in a mug for me.
Cupcakes I have acquired a sweet tooth and although red velvet is one of my favorites I am not fussy when it comes to any other kind.
Our Cottage My little piece of heaven my do nothing place
Connecting with People Long distance calls, a card or letter, an email, a hug or comments on my blog I need people ~ guess I am a people person and I treasure my friendships.
So there is my list I hope you enjoyed reading it as I had so much fun putting it together!
I received another award the other day
from Carol over at
Songberries
I really feel special
when one of these awards
are bestowed upon me...
because it is for something
I really love to do.
It brings out my
creativity
and lets me pour my heart out
when I want to.
There are some rules of course
to follow when receiving this
they are:
~thank this person who nominated you for the award
~copy the logo and place it on your blog
~link to the person who nominated you
~name 7 things about yourself that people may not know
~nominate 7 creative bloggers
~post their links
~leave a comment on each
So without further ado....
ahem..
Thank you to Carol for nominating me for this award
her blog makes my mouth water
literally!
You should really run over and check her out!
Now for the 7 things you may wish you never knew about me:
I have spent most of my life in the Maritimes and consider myself a Maritimer even though I was born in Toronto.
I worked in retail for 18 years - 17 of them at the same place Eaton's ~ which is now out of business. I worked my way up the ladder and made lots of memories and friendships that continue today. I really miss that store and will always be an Eatonian in my heart.
I hate green beans ~ like the yellow ones but not the green. Trevor says they taste the same ~ they - do -not!
When I was growing up I wanted to be a singer. I would enter talent shows and sing in Christmas concerts. Music has been and is a big part of my life.
I have a group of friends that I started Grade 1 with that I still hang around with today. Our lives have taken us all in different directions through the years ~ but we all come back together, have a couple of drinks and remember when. We do have some great stories ~ we really do!
When I go to bed at night I have to have one foot stuck out from beneath the covers. It is almost like my toes need to breathe.
We tried to have a baby for 2 years ~ went through fertility drugs and the likes. There was nothing medically wrong ~ it just didn't happen for us. I have stopped apologizing for not having kids. I have learned to live with it ~ I wish everyone else would. It does make me sad that Trev's parents will never have grandchildren... and I like to think I would have been a good Mom it just was not meant to be.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now
I would like to nominate in no particular order:
Kim ~ mimicharmante this is the sweet sweet girl that introduced me to blogging
and if I did not love her so much, I would hate her.
Simone ~ The Bottom of the Ironing Basket this is my sister from across the pond
I have "known" her for almost 10 years
and cannot wait until we actually get a chance to sit down
with a glass of wine, listen to 80's music and talk and talk and talk...
Zizette ~ Chez Zizi this is another dear friend whom I met on line when we were planning our weddings.
I was a lucky girl when I got a chance to meet her in person this summer
when we were on vacation and she was everything I expected and more.
Jackie ~ Home this is the spot where I love to go each and every day.
Her images are gorgeous and someday we will get together
and have that glass of wine!
Maggie ~ The White Farmhouse I stumbles across Maggie when I first started blogging.
I love her sense of humor and her creativity.
Lisa ~ Recaptured Charm I just found her through another blog and was blown away by her projects!
She is also a fellow Canuck ~ so she has to be a good girl...right?!
Now I am heading off to leave everyone a comment!!
Oh ~ I almost forgot ~
I received a package this week from Cathi!
I won her giveaway for her 100th post
so as soon as I upload my pictures
I will tell you all about it.
This is how she described her gift: "giveaway of my favorite things that encompass all of our 5 senses: touch, taste, sound, sight, smell."
I sent her my info last night and I will be sure to take pictures to share once I receive it!
The blogging world has really opened up my creative side... I love taking pictures and it prompted me to go out and buy a new camera and just wander again.
It has really been too long and a lot easier now than it used to be... isn't the digital age wonderful!
I am busy working on my 100th I have a giveaway planned and I am so excited about it.
