Let Love Grow

On an overcast day in August we headed to the beach

to watch one of my favourite people ever 

get married to her prince

my God daughter Jillian was a beautiful bride

of course I knew she would be

she is one of those people that is not only a gorgeous girl

but she has a huge heart

the details for this small intimate wedding made me smile

from the location which was at her Grandmother's cottage

with the Confederation Bridge and Northumberland Strait as the backdrop

for those of you who love all things Anne of Green Gables

that is the bridge to Prince Edward Island

to the gifts she gave her girls to all the little touches sprinkled here and there

it really put her stamp on their special day

on the stem of her bouquet was a piece of lace from her Mom's dress

along with a little framed picture of her with her Grandfather

and a little charm that belonged to her Aunt Debbie who we lost suddenly in May

the happy couple with their fur baby Rosco

I have to tell you that this is one of my favourite families in the world

not only have Rocky and I been friends forever

but she married a great guy that has been a wonderful husband and father

then turned around and had 3 great kids

with Lisa & Ryan now married 4 years 

their little one turned a year in April

eyes have turned to Matthew ~ his girlfriend is Morgan is such a cutie

the reception was held in the bride's hometown

where it all began

and after dinner and the cutting of the cake

and of course the dances with Matt

and her Dad

this girl did not leave the dance floor

love that they had so much fun ~ I know I did

Monday Ramblings

Can I say wow

where on earth has the past 4 days gone

and now I sit here dreading going

back to work this morning!!

between unpacking, laundry,

errands, catching up on some must see tv

attempting to catch up on my blogs

and the events of the week-end

whoosh

it's Sunday night again

and then the dreaded Monday morning

although it has been a cool and rainy week-end

it is so nice to see the daffodils blooming

and things greened up so much

while we were gone

of course I was glued to the tv on Friday

loved ~ loved ~ loved

it all!

we went to Mom's for supper on Saturday night

so nice to have everyone around the table

bbq'd steak and salads

and birthday cake for dessert

Sunday afternoon we headed to the camp

to spend the day with Trev's parents

another big dinner with the other side of the family

of course we distributed gifts

as we brought something back for everyone

just little things ~ coffee, jewelry and rum!

My boy's birthday is today

we celebrate exactly 2 weeks apart

and no gifts to each other this year

as we had a giant gift in the middle of them this year

I love you baby ~ hope this year is the best one yet!

I am still getting around to visit everyone

I have had to share some computer time with my beloved

and the desktop just does not move as fast as it used to

think I should buy my own laptop...

something to ponder.

Sealed With a Kiss...

I told you all about one of my besties here

 well Saturday was the wedding

and what a time we had!

their invitation was unique ~ different

but oh so cool

the sun was shining ~ there was a cool breeze

well more like a cold wind

but no rain ~ a perfect day for a wedding!

this is my corsage as Kim and I passed out the programs

at the ceremony

we piled into the limo on route for pictures

and I caught Shigeki looking down

"what's that shiny thing??!!"

too funny

 

this was the place we went for pictures

it was beautiful

I stayed back and let the photographer do his thing

there were touches of cherry blossoms throughout the 

reception venue and Andrea told the story of how they met

during her thank you speech

the cake was gorgeous and delicious

we laughed so much ~ this family is fantastic

they are a super couple

Spending the night with some of my best friends

was the greatest time

Andrea, Kim, Lori and I all met when we worked together

we became fast friends

we were single together ~ partied together

traveled together

laughed together and cried together

these were taken at the end of the night ~ I think we held up pretty well!

and yes I cried ~ the song was beautiful

then we danced ~ and boy did we dance!

this dance is a tradition

we did "the hitchhiker" to the song

"Knock on Wood"

we have done it at all of our weddings

and Andrea's was the last

so glad we could all be there to do it!

Sunday I slept in ~ and my knees still hurt from dancing

I am getting old!

so here are the Mr. & Mrs

and I could not be happier for them!
