Summertime

Hello lovelies
Happy Monday!

This week-end was all that summer promised it would be
we had sunshine ~ lots of sunshine
and warm temperatures
it truly was a perfect one

after errands and chores were completed on Saturday
I whipped up a batch of the drink I posted about here

I used a bottle of Peach Chardonney
(from my secret stash)
and 2 cans of Fresca
added a cut up peach and some blueberries
and proceeded to sit on the deck and enjoy

it was refreshing ~ so good in fact
that I think I will make it again next week-end
but I will make it earlier and let it sit for a bit...

we watched a movie Saturday night
which is a rarity for us ~ so that was nice

Sunday afternoon we visited a friend who was home
from out of town ~ lots of laughs and catching up to do
it is always nice to reconnect

it will be a busy one this week
trying to get some stuff done around the house
and cleaning up things at work as I have
some time off coming up

Friday Potpourri & Last Chance...

what a week ~ it has been a long one

with rain, rain and need I say it

more rain....

at least it is not snow ~ right?

gotta look on the bright side

I have been on a roller coaster of emotions

up and down ~ up and down

thankfully with the promise of the week-end ahead

with no concrete plans

let's just say it is a welcome sight

I will do some cleaning

and lots of relaxing

along with some reading and planning

planning for a visitor and some time off

much needed time off...

I want to make this ~ doesn't it look so good

and this ~ both found here

this is one bottle of white wine

3 cans of Fresca

and fresh fruit

I am making a batch for a little party we are having

next week-end

Pool Days

Not that our summer has been great so far

but we have had some nice days

and when they land on a week-end

it is the perfect time to spend 

some time at the pool

we are fortunate enough to have open access to one

as Trev's cousin has given us the go ahead

whether they are home or not

pool noodles are our friends!

so the holiday Monday we got a call

it's a beautiful day and we are both home

come one over!

a couple of beverages ~ hop into the suit and grab the towel

off we went and had a great day

the host extraordinaire ~ Tom

Molly even got in on the action

the little one from next door came over and had a blast

is she not the cutest!

Linda ~ our hostess spoiled us rotten

not only did she have nibblies in the screen room for us

but we ended up staying for supper too!

they have a gorgeous yard and I fell in love with her new flower bed

filled with calla lilies

it was a perfect day filled with family and laughter!

For the Girl on the Swing ~ One Year Later

Today I will remember

a soul sister that was taken from us too soon

she and I clicked

we shared stories

some laughs

and some tears

she loved swings

wildflowers

her beach

fashion

and most of all

her Captain

for those of you who knew her

know what I mean

when she passed 

there was a huge hole left behind

some days she passes through my mind

like the soft touch of a butterfly

saying ~ I am here

so this is a tribute post

for Lisa
