Friday Potpourri

ahh comfy cozy Autumn

I see you as I look around

I want to gather a group of girlfriends
and head to a cabin in the woods

we will talk and drink coffee and mimosa's in the morning

after we come in from a nice walk
we will warm ourselves with cider

then after a great meal and many bottles of wine
we will sing and dance into the wee hours of the morning

instead though this week-end
I will venture out with my camera and hopefully capture
some of the fall foliage

slow cooked meals are on the agenda

along with maybe some baking

I do know that I will be surrounded by my little family

so no matter what I do ~ I will be happy

I think we all have been touched by cancer

or know someone who has

maybe this is the time to book your mammogram

or go with someone for support

the girls have to stick together to take care of the girls!

Thanksgiving

Well hello there

miss me??

I have missed you ~ I have been a little disconnected

but I am back

today is Thanksgiving Day

here in Canada

we had our dinner yesterday

one of the perks of the holiday being on a Monday

that we can gather all week-end long!

we went to Trev's cousins

and there were 12 of us around the table

with good food ~ wine and conversation

it was a perfect day

today I made eggs benedict for brunch

and I am getting ready to head outside

to cut back the flowerbeds

it is finally time ~ I did some a couple of weeks back

but because our weather has been phenomenal

warm ~ feeling more like August than October warm

I waited...

hope your week-end was full of fun and laughter

and to all my friends north of the border

I Knew You When....

a couple of  week-ends ago, we had a little reunion with the old gang

we went back to the "hood" as there are quite a few

still living in the area

we had a corn boil 

dug out the old cd's and photo albums

and laughed a lot

there were some that couldn't come

but connecting with those people that could make it again

was priceless

new memories were made

we all meet back on that common ground

these are the people that taught me what friendship 

is all about

I am talking elementary school right up to graduation

and beyond

sock hops, teen dances

first kisses.... the list goes on and on

at 10 to 2

and I was gathering my stuff to leave

one grabbed my arm and said

when are we going to do this again

soon my friend ~ soon.

 the days are  getting shorter

and cooler

I feel like nesting

baking ~ slow cooked meals

under a blanket with a good book and a cup of tea

socks ~ gasp 

and sweaters

this week-end I am packing up summer

they are calling for rain

so nest I will

I need a week-end at home

to putter and do things at will

no agenda ~ no lists ~ no plans

sounds like a perfect one to me.
