In Bloom

Spring is one of my favorite seasons
maybe it is all the colour

all the green ~ the blooms

this is a white lilac taken down at Trev's parents camp
I love that it has a tinge of mauve
it is gorgeous

my hanging baskets this year
million bells ~ year after year
I love them

a couple more camp shots

I filled the old washtub ~ better this year I hope
since it has better drainage ~ hoping it fills out and the climbing nasturtiums
bloom and climb!

my new little revamped bed out back
picking up some perennials but also keeping some annual favorites
like my cosmos ~ can't have a garden without them!

This week-end was jam packed
out both nights and had a ball

Friday night was old friends and saying
remember that time....
great memories

the next night was a great dinner
and lots of wine
home a little earlier ~ another wonderful night
with one of my favorite people ever

then Sunday was spent snuggled on the couch with
Samantha ~ eating chips and dip ~ dill pickle please
and watching a movie
a perfect way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon.

4 more days to work
and then vacation

looking so forward to it!

Hope you had a fabulous week-end
and that the sunshine warms your face this week
and makes you smile.

Jubilee Celebrations

London is celebrating
and I have been watching

this is the picture I remember hanging in our classroom growing up!
We were talking about all the festivities on Sunday
and Mom said she remembers saving all the newspaper clippings
of the coronation back in 1953 ~ she would have been only 6
too bad she still did not have those clippings today!
(the accession was in '52 but the coronation was not until '53)

London is all decked out ~ I so wish I could see this is person

one of the broadcasters said that they have not seen the Queen
smile so much

so much to celebrate ~ so many reasons to smile!

Last week I watched a special about the jubilee
and both Princes ~ William and Harry were interviewed

loved the interview especially when Harry said when asked
"what do you call her"
why Granny of course!

Tonight is the concert which I will be tuning into.

Have you watched at all?

Friday Potpourri

Pretty in pink
as I have flowers on my mind

and it's June ~ where on earth did May go??!!

via

it's been a cool and rainy week
so that means any planting I wanted to get done
did not ~ thankfully there is sunshine in the forecast
so tomorrow it is!

I want to thank everyone that came over to visit me at Kim's
on Wednesday ~ I really loved writing that post ~ a lot!

so I am off to dig in the dirt again
and maybe have a barbeque or two
along with an adult beverage

and  enjoy the sunshine.

Have a fabulous week-end!

Rolling on the River

What a simply gorgeous week-end we had here
the weather was perfect

makes you want to stay outside all day
and all night week-end

then Sunday night comes along
and then Monday morning and we are back at it

Sunday we had a mission though
as we traveled to the city of Miramichi
to attend a 50th anniversary party
for our sister in law's parents

in their banquet room

it was quite the setting

the gardens were beautiful

the path leading down to the river

the Miramichi river is known all over to be
one of the best places to fish salmon

we hope to get back up this year as they also offer tubing
which is a blast and a great way to spend a hot Saturday afternoon!

I mentioned on Friday that I was going treasure hunting
Trevor's Aunt had to be put into a home
so his cousins are cleaning out the house and were having a yard sale.
I grabbed Trev's Mom and we went to help set up
and of course I nabbed a few odds and ends
that tickled my fancy.

a big old platter ~ a couple of old cookbooks and a vintage suitcase
plus a couple of cups & saucers and some vintage gadgets

there was so much stuff there that I could have brought home
but I was a good girl.

on the drive yesterday to the party I was on the lookout for lilacs
I found the perfect bush ~ close to the road
no houses around ~ so we stopped on the way home and I got them
the house smells divine right now

oh how I love thee

Hope you had a sunshiney week-end
and that you had a reason to smile

Have a great week!
