Monday Ramblings

I cannot believe that it is Monday again already

why on earth do the week-ends go so fast??

I had a busy week-end

along with my usual chores

I finally started to clean the craft room

or the "catch all" room is what I would rather refer it to now

as there have not been a lot of crafts done in there lately

but there sure is a lot of crap in there!

I am still in the midst of sorting through things

and have a box of supplies to donate

I did not take any before pictures

as yes ~ it was that bad

and if it turns out the way I envision

I will take an after shot

we still have snow

with more in the forecast

and March is sometimes our worst month

Lord help us now!

I have been trying to get around to visit

and forgive me if I did not comment much this week

but please know that I have been there!

Hoping that everyone had a wonderful week-end

and that this week is a good one

mine has 4 work days this week as I took Friday off

so I am looking forward to this "short week"

Friday Potpourri

taking some time

this Friday morning 

to just say hi

it has been a busy week

and with no real plans this week-end

I am looking forward to cooking something wonderful

spending some time with my family

running some errands

and of course there are the weekly chores...

does this not look like the best place to blog!

I am still drawn to snow shots

cozy sweaters ~ scarves ~ mittons

it was bitter cold the beginning of the week

and today it is mild

with a rain/snow mix

keeps us guessing for sure

and there is yet another storm in the forecast for tomorrow

no sense in complaining though

no control ~ no stress ~ right??!!

I will be buying my paint for the bedroom this week-end

as I want to get it done next week-end

I truly love winter week-ends

not feeling guilty if I want to crawl under a blanket

and read a book all day

Roses & Snow

Hello there

it's Wednesday

it's cold

and

we still have lots of snow...

I came home Monday night

Valentines night

to a bouquet of roses

not a dozen long stemmed red roses

it was a rainbow bouquet

and they are beautiful!

so I made some dinner

tried my new recipe

yummy ~ fattening

Scallop Carbonara

sorry ~ no pictures

as it was not quite photo worthy

the chocolate cupcakes

with peanut butter frosting

were photo worthy

and oh so good

we did not do anything special 

except have a glass of wine

and then became one with the couch

opened our cards to each other

and just spent some time together

it was a good night

Saturday we went to the cottage

to shovel the roof

as you can see ~ it needed it

we walked in from the road

and the snow was deep

my legs still hurt ~ yes I am whining just a bit

my job was to make

hot chocolate

and mission accomplished

I will call this

hot chocolate in the snow

I think it could become art!

so my boy was on the roof

and I was freezing inside

as it was colder in the cottage

than it was outside

Molly gave up

and after about 30 minutes of flogging through the snow

she decided the truck was a better place to be

so on my trip back to the road for my book

she decided to stay put

this is the water from her dog dish

yes ~ it was cold!

we had a great afternoon

and although I was cold and wet

after being in snow up to my crotch in some places

I am glad I went down

I jokingly said that if he fell off the roof

I would not find him until Spring!

Monday Love

I am a romantic heart

but in our house ~ we show each other love
every day of the year

we will not head out to dinner tonight

instead I will cook a special meal here at home

I will not have a dozen long stemmed roses

delivered to me at work

but there will more than likely be 

a beautiful mixed bouquet waiting for me

when I get home

I may or may not receive a gift

and do you know what

that's OK

I do have something for him

a small box of chocolates

and a concert ticket to his fav band eva

I have also made chocolate cupcakes

with peanut butter frosting

we will head out for dinner

on another night this week

just because...

don't get me wrong ~ I love having a day

for all the lovers in the world

we will just not participate in the commercialism of it all

because I am a romantic

and love that my Valentine is here with me

365 days a year

so whatever you choose to do today

have fun
